Men of Richmond, dress better!
I remember how offended I was when a girl at my office showed this to me a few weeks ago. She smiled and pointed to her computer screen, thinking I’d like it. One, I was amazed she thought this fellow looks good. Two, I was mortified she thought I would like this, because to her I dress this way. Absolutely not. I kindly replied that I wear clothes that fit. FIT!
This gentleman’s coat is too short in the sleeves and body. It looks to be at least a size too small. Fuck, I just hate this coat. Buttons on the pockets? Never. This whole look is too monochromatic, which wouldn’t be too bad if he was wearing blues but it looks like he’s trying too hard in black and gray.
Sometimes, always, never. This refers to what buttons to button on a three button coat. Sometimes button the top, always the middle, and never the bottom. This is a rule to live by.
The shirt? Not as bad as the coat, but a brown shirt does not work with the dark coat and pants. And unbutton that top bottom. It looks ridiculous.
Jeans are too skinny. Boots, although not terrible, can go.
The only good things here are above the neck. I like the hair and sunglasses, though I wouldn’t recommend them to the average Richmonder. Only a certain fellow can pull them off.
