Men of Richmond, dress better!

My Purchases at Sid’s

I don’t like disclosing how much I pay for items unless thrifted, but I want to link to these items because I know my pictures suck. First up is linen/cotton blend pocket square with hand-rolled edges. I’m certainly no pocket square expert, but I now understand why those who are prefer hand-rolled edges. They have more life and certainly more roundness than those that are done by machine. So why did I pay $55 for a pocket square? One, I don’t have one, so this fills a gap in my wardrobe. Two, it’s very versatile so I can get a lot of use out of it. Three, in my time thrifting I have never seen one. Four, it’s definitely cheaper than Sid’s shoes.

My big purchase of the day was an alligator strap - a present to myself for landing this new job. I did some research months ago on StyleForum and AAAC about what constitutes a quality alligator belt and Sid’s met all criteria: single piece construction, even scales, and even stitching. Fuck me, it’s gorgeous. I actually haven’t worn it yet because I still haven’t purchased a belt buckle, but I’m leaning to engine-turned. Come fall this is going to be on my waist at least three days a week.
